UN General Assembly (Sixth Committee)

It is the principal deliberative and policy-making organ of the UN. It provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion on issues of international importance ranging from wars, food crises, and sustainable goals to climate change as under the provisions of the UN charter. This body takes crucial decisions including the appointment of non-permanent members in the UNSC, and approval of the UN budget and also plays a central role in the process of standard setting and the codification of international laws. The assembly meets in regular sessions from September to December every year.
